Mel LaFlam is a Certified Professional Trainer at American Lineman College. La Flam has over 50 years of experience in the operation, maintenance and construction of overhead and underground distribution and transmission systems. Over the past 10 years, La Flam has also had the privilege of delivering enterprise-wide training to PG&E, Southern California Edison, Quanta Services, NV Energy and several other utility and construction companies across the U.S.
During his career, Mel has provided safety and certification training to over 50,000 pre-apprentice, apprentice and journey level lineworkers. He helped successfully launch Northwest Lineman College’s Lineman Apprenticeship Program and was instrumental in the delivery of advanced lineworker safety training to Quanta Services. Mel’s passion for education and training has earned him several awards and industry recognitions. Mel is one of the most recognized and expert craft trainers for electrical lineworkers in the United States.
